Dresses – some people love a dress and others (particularly if you live in a windy coastal location) find them tricky in most seasons but we do believe that there is a dress for everyone that works for you whatever your body shape, in every season, and whatever your lifestyle too!

Our Design Team work with women of all shapes and sizes to ensure that we have women’s clothing designs that have something that will suit a range of body shapes and sizes whether you are a petite or tall person and this is where our team of Tortue Style Consultants can really help you with a personal styling session to not only find the dress that works best for you, but help you team it with the right accessories and layers so that your dress works in multiple seasons.

The colour choices and patterns in a dress are important considerations as well as the practicalities such as hem and sleeve lengths.  If you get it wrong, the dress will wear you instead of vice versa.  As Vera Wang said “I want people to see the dress but focus on the woman” and we can help you do just that!

Whilst the late summer sun is shining our stunning Floral Dress is the perfect blend of elegance and femininity.  Lightweight and airy with a V Neckline, decorative buttons and a contrasting braid.  Made from 100% eco friendly viscose it will look great with your flip flops or trainers for a casual look, but as Summer trickles into Autumn team it with wool/opaque tights, boots and a comfy longline knit for snuggly warmth.

Our team are huge fans of the empire line cut to this dress as it suits a wide range of body shapes and looks good on both the taller and smaller members of our team too!

A dress can be a good option for your workwear wardrobe.  Our Khaki dress is made from supersoft and comfortable eco friendly Lyocell which adds a touch of subtle sophistication with the elegant V neckline having pretty braid detailing along with a slightly satin feel that hangs beautifully.

Pair it with a blazer for work and depending on the best look for your body shape it can be worn as it comes as a shift style dress or pair with our wide elasticated belt to accentuate your waistline. 

Again – wear as is with a court shoe or kitten heel for the warmer days or add black tights and ankle boots for cooler days.

Fashion Designer Michael Kors once said “I’ve always thought of accessories as the exclamation point of a woman’s outfit” and we couldn’t agree more!  Accessories can really change the look of the dress here – wear it pared back with trainers and our boho style saddle bag and a denim jacket for a smart casual look or add our new sleek black padded style handbag for an elevated look.  This dress is ideal for transitioning a daytime work look to an evening look – simply add some strappy heels and sparkly jewellery and you are ready for a night on the town!

We know not everyone likes to flash their legs in which case our Long Patchwork dress made from eco designed voile with 100% viscose lining boasts bold printed patchwork which is a trend of the season!  The long sleeves have a slightly puffed look and are elasticated at the bottom so that you can push them up or wear them wherever you want them along your forearms and know that they will stay in place!

Depending on the colour palette that works best for you, team with black or sand accessories, a smarter blazer for a smarter look or a comfy oversize knit or our worker shirt for a more relaxed look.

Chunky boots will add to the boho vibe and layered necklaces will complete the look too!  Again, add our wide elasticated belt if you want to accentuate your waistline and raise the hemline of the dress at the same time. 

Women’s fashion has come a long way since the original design of the ‘Little Black Dress’ (LBD) and we think that this is a classic piece for every woman’s wardrobe.

“One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a little black dress” according to Fashion Designer Karl Lagerfeld!

This season our LBD is an exquisitely draped dress for luxurious sophistication in a crepe fabric and fully lined so that you feel fab!  We have added a metal buckle and belt to elegantly cinch in your waist and a dramatic V cut to the neckline at the front and back for timeless chic.

When is a dress not a dress? – When it is a shirt dress! I promised those who are “not really a dress person” or who may live in windy coastal areas that we had a dress for you and this is it!

Our monochrome printed shirt dress suits all body types and is guaranteed to turn heads (in a good way) when you wear it!  The loose fit and 100% viscose composition make it the perfect piece for layering – wear with our white Alice or Charlie Jeans and our arty Lurex Face graphic T shirt for a more sunny day look or pair with our darker Kate jeans and 100% silk cami for a more autumnal look.
