About Tortue
What is Tortue?
Tortue is personal styling with French-designed womenswear. Our stylists host home boutiques around the UK, visit your home or event, or see you one-to-one on video. I'm Nina, and I started Tortue in 2022 with the help of my friends. You can read more on our About Us page.
How do you say Tortue, and what does it mean?
"Tor-too", and it's the French for turtle. Turtles live for decades and move with grace and speed in the water, which is exactly how we like to think about ageing well: not fading, just getting better at this.
Do you have a shop I can visit?
Our stylists have home boutiques rather than a high street shop, and you can find your nearest one on our Find Your Stylist page.
Styling and stylists
How does a styling appointment work?
Visit your stylist at her home boutique, bring a friend or two, or invite her to your home or event. Prefer to stay in? She'll happily do a one-to-one video appointment. At the end she'll give you your wishlist: the pieces you loved plus her personal fit and size recommendations for you.
How do I book?
Message or phone your stylist, or send an enquiry through the website and we'll point you to the right person. We don't have an online booking system.
Can I just buy online without seeing a stylist?
Yes, you can shop the collection on this website any time. Many customers shop online between appointments, and your stylist is always happy to advise on sizing.
Do you do events?
Yes: fashion shows, fundraisers and pop-up shops. Tell us about yours on our Events page and we'll reply personally.
Sizes
What sizes do you offer?
The current collection is UK 6–20 (EU 34–48). Our full range, UK 4–24, returns next season. Our size guide has the bust, waist and hip measurements.
I'm not sure which size to order.
Your stylist knows your fit better than any chart. Message her, or use the "Message Your Stylist" form on the size guide page.
Ordering, delivery and payment
How long will my order take?
We aim to ship within a week, and delivery typically takes 7–10 days from order, depending on customs. We'll email you if there are any delays.
How much is delivery?
Free on orders of £125 or more, otherwise £5.70. We only deliver to UK addresses.
How can I pay?
Visa, Mastercard, Klarna, Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Are your reviews genuine?
Our reviews come through REVIEWS.io, which emails you after you've bought, and they're marked as verified customers. Our average rating is currently above 4.8 out of 5, from more than 140 reviews.
Prices
Do you have sales?
Our prices stay the same through the season. We only discount at the end of the season, and only on pieces already in the UK. We never discount something and then order more in. We keep stock lean and help with sizing to keep returns low, which helps keep prices down.
Returns and contact
What's your returns policy?
You have 15 days after receiving your item to request a return. It needs to be unworn, in its original packaging, with your order number. Please email hello@tortue.uk first, as items sent back without a return request can't be accepted. Return postage isn't free, because that would mean raising prices for everyone. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of us approving the return. Our full refund policy has all the details.
Can I exchange something?
The quickest way is to return the item and place a new order once your return is accepted.
