Blog Post – Day to Night Dressing
Have you ever done this or seen this late at night at your local McDonalds?? Seeing as we are entering party season I’m guessing it won’t be too long before late night McDonalds gets a whole more interesting from a people watching perspective!
When I worked in London many years ago, we used to work hard over a long working day but then go out after work to enjoy the night scene in the capital … before picking up a Happy Meal at the station on the way to the tube/train home at the end of the night!
Whilst reflecting on those fab work hard/play hard days in London I realised that we are quickly falling into the Christmas gathering season! Sometimes this is a lunchtime get together with friends and sometimes a work gathering … which may or may not extend through the afternoon and into the evening beyond (depending who you work for) so needs a bit of clever thought over what to wear so that you don’t end up carrying a big bag of stuff around with you!
Our Tortue Team recently got together in North Berwick for a Team Meeting followed by our early Christmas Party Night out. Amazingly as we sat around the table in the restaurant for the drawing of the Secret Santa none of us were wearing the same thing (and we hadn’t even had the “what are you going to wear” chat either) which I think just goes to show the versatility of our fabulous Tortue clothing range.
Taking a daytime look to an evening look is not just for those who may work at an office in the day but can be handy if you have days out planned for Christmas Shopping, meeting up with friends or weekends away. The key is to tweaking your look rather than having to pack armfuls of clothes into your bag before you head out. Sometimes all it takes is a change of jewellery and shoes to give your outfit a completely different feel!
For a day out with friends for Christmas Shopping and festive food our Romy Coated Jeans in Silver are a good call. Creating a capsule wardrobe for workwear can really help you here and the beauty of a capsule wardrobe is that you only need a few co-ordinating pieces to create a multitude of outfits AND you have the piece of mind that whatever you take from your capsule will always pair perfectly with something else from your capsule so you don’t really have to think too long or hard about what to wear that day.
