Blog Post – Look Good & Feel Fantastic!

Why is that whatever you go into IKEA for … you always come out with more things than you knew you needed!

I have recently rediscovered IKEA after a 7 year gap and was pleasantly surprisedThere was no horrendous queue of traffic to the store, plenty of parking right outside and  a delicious fragrance wafting through the store wherever I went too!

I have to say that apart from Customer Services which was as slow as it ever was, there were not so many people in the ticket queue 7 years on (last time I was there it was worse than going to a shoe shop for school shoes at the end of the school holidays!)  It was reassuringly familiar in many ways – not just the little show rooms that you wind your way through for about a mile, followed by the Aladdins Cave of all sorts of homewares then the actual warehouse bit for the bigger flatpack stuff.

Add in the “Swedish Restaurant” midway and then the takeaway ice cream and food shop at the end and it is actually a day out in its own right and your step count target for the day is smashed with all the walking too!

Theres something about Ikea that reminded me of Tortue (I know what you are thinking … Ikea is Swedish and at Tortue we bring you French fashion but bear with me…)

The thing with Ikea is that it doesn’t try to be anything else than itselfIt has ranges to suit different styles, tastes and budgets and is just enough modern in style without being too modern or “arty” (i.e. lovely to look at but you would never have it for yourself!) just like our fabulous clothing collections at Tortue.

Most of our Tortue Stylists have home boutiques or regular pop up shopping venues where you can park easily without having to pay a huge fee or queue for a ticket machine!    You will most probably be offered a coffee (or even a glass of fizz) and we look after our customers too with individually tailored serviceOver time we get to know you, your likes, dislikes, your best fit styles and sizes and the colours that suit you best

We can pre-select pieces for you that we know will work with your budget and co-ordinate with other pieces you have previously bought from us so that you can be more mindful about your approach to shopping for your wardrobe.

Wendy was first to shop my new boutique and discovered this fab Mila top in Silver which she hadn’t previously spotted online so there really is no substitute for viewing the range in person where you get to look, touch, and try the pieces for yourself!

AND…. *** hot off the press ***  You can now buy “Look Good & Feel Fantastic” book from the Accessories section of our website so that you can have all my style tips at your finger tips too!

We help you build a capsule wardrobe over time that helps you to create a multitude of outfits from a few key pieces so that you don’t overspend buying clothes that you never wear  You will always get a friendly welcome and should you have an issue we can help you to get it sorted quickly either with our Stylist Team or online via our Chatbot (which is actually our CEO Nina who responds to the chat) meaning our customer service is with a real person who understands what you need and can help you asap.

When you shop with us at Tortue you know you are going to get friendly honest advice, alongside sustainable fashion from a brand that really does care about the environment and takes steps all the time to make improvements to being more eco in what we offer and how we bring it to you so that you can Look Good and Feel Fantastic Too!

We had so much fun recently when Nina and I opened my new in home boutiqueIt was great to see so many people come and enjoy a glass of fizz, some nibbles and enjoy chatting to one another whilst browsing our fab clothing range.

Just like my colleagues across the country Cornwall is now “open” for in person shopping, 1:1, feel free to bring along friends, as groups, events, collaborations and charity fundraisers too – just give us a shout to book in and/or chat through your ideas and we can see how we can help.

Its easy to shop with us, no horrendous smelly changing rooms AND we promise we won’t sell you napkins and another pot plant that you didn’t know you needed either….. !

The new Autumn/Winter collection will soon be on the way and our team are heading to France this week for a preview from our family business supplier called Maison Captain.    We have no idea what is coming (yet) but I am sure it will be reassuringly familiar and yet new in style/colours to keep you looking your best so watch this space!

Time to pack my suitcase!

Au revoir(or Hej da!that’s goodbye in Swedish!)
