Over the Summer holidays I had a little time to catch up on some TV programmes that have wanted to watch for a while but not had the opportunity to do before the schools broke up - One of these was Love Story on Disney+
It’s the story of John F Kennedy Junior and Carolyn Bessette in a 9 part series dramatizing how they met, their relationship and the story through to what happened next…
Its one of those programmes that is so nostalgic as you watch it – not just for the fab 90’s soundtrack (yes – I was singing along VERY loudly whilst watching it), but also for those key moments in time that you remember from your own life during the 1990’s like the shock at the car crash of Princess Diana.

Carolyn Bessette had a very close working relationship with the Designer Calvin Klein so there is a lot of fashion featured in the series - including “that” famous Calvin Klein topless muscle bound hunky model just wearing boxer shorts advert (the first time around before David Beckham did it!).
Carolyn was the USA equivalent to Princess Diana in terms of how she was hounded by the press. Her style has seen a resurgence this year for her 90’s minimalist elegance and her way of timeless dressing in chic – classic pieces just like Tortue!

As you will know, there have been a few changes with our supplier in France this year, which meant that we skipped our usual Summer collection whilst work has been happening behind the scenes on something new.
There has been a name behind every piece you have worn from Tortue, a French Designer who has been quietly shaping our collections since January 2014.
Her name is Delphine (my hero!!!) and we love her to bits!
Her hands have been behind many years of fabulous collections that our clients have LOVED and she is designing the next collection for us. Follow along on the Tortue Instagram and Facebook Pages as we count down to the big reveal of the collection over the forthcoming weeks which our team can’t wait to show you in October!
We have had a few changes to our Tortue logo and brand colours which we think better reflects who we are and the feeling behind what we do and how we do it! You may start to see “Styled by someone who knows you” popping up here and there too.
We have had a few changes to our Team as well (its been a very busy Summer for us behind the scenes), so thought it would be good to (re)introduce ourselves by regions over the next few blogs to help you to get to know us a little better, starting with our Team in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Alison is your Tortue Stylist in Glasgow, although you will often find her back in Aberdeen where her roots are!
When she isn’t helping her lovely ladies to find outfits that they feel amazing in, you can find her flying around the world as Cabin Crew – a career she has loved for her entire working life! Fashion and flying are the perfect combination for Alison, so you could call her the “Flying Fashionista!”
With 18 years of styling, helping people to find clothes that make them feel confident, comfortable and fabulous for everyday and occasions too she can’t wait to share the new Tortue collections with you and help you to fall in love with them just as much as she has.
Sharon has over 12 years of experience and a real passion for helping women to feel confident, comfortable and fantastic in what they wear. She offers honest personal styling advice and a little inspiration and would love to help you find your perfect look! 
Originally from North Lanarkshire and now living in Aberdeen, she loves getting to know her customers and helping them find clothes that feel right for them – whether that’s the perfect outfit for a special occasion, something to refresh their wardrobe or simply a style they might not have thought to try before.
Alongside her styling work, Sharon also works part time for a charity managing their projects and funding.
She says the best part of becoming a Style Consultant is the relationships she has built along the way – some of her customers have gone on to become some of her best friends!
Jennifer is based in Edinburgh where she brings the elegance and versatility of the Tortue collections as a qualified Colour Analyst helping every woman to feel wonderful in clothes that truly suit them.
Jennifer also works as a solicitor for one of Scotland’s biggest charities, a role that sharpens her eye for detail. She’s also a Mum of two and an outdoors enthusiast; when not dressed professionally, you will find her in Lycra climbing a Munro or out on her bike!
Suzanne is an Image Consultant based in Dumfries and Galloway. Trained in Tonal Colour Analysis, she particularly enjoys putting outfits together to suit clients in their seasonal colour palettes as well as their lifestyles.
Suzanne left her Corporate Career in Central Scotland 8 years ago, to return to her childhood home and now cares for her Mum. She also enjoys walking in her local forestry and local beaches and enjoys cooking too!
Emma is based in the County Down countryside of Northern Ireland, with her husband, young family and handsome Irish Setter!
She provides honest and professional advice on styling to all of her customers, presenting the best outfit combinations for their body shape and lifestyle.
Other interests outside of Tortue include interiors, baking and cooking plus long dog walks with her family.
We can’t wait to introduce more of the team alongside the new seasonal looks that are on their way too. Whilst we have had a few changes, one thing is for sure that will never change – timeless elegance in anytime zone styled by someone who knows you.
